VMY2014: Cherating, Pahang

Date of visit: 15 March 2014
Location: Cherating Beach, Kuantan, Pahang

Beach retreat with buddies, Miss T and Miss H

It's been more than a month since i m updating my blog. So, i'll try my best to update this one. A trip to Cherating, Pahang. The original mission was to attend a wedding ceremony of our friend's brother but later we decided to continue with a short trip to Cherating beach and explore the place.

The weather was good at that time. It's windy and cool. Perfect moment to scroll along the beach and relax from business and chaotic city.

Wide and clean beach.
I have not been here for many many years. So, to see such a clean beach, clear water, bright blue sky was such a bless.

Spent our first day here with ATV ride. RM40 per person for about 1 hour trip plus a guude cumm photographer

About to rain. Strong wind.

After prayer, we had another plan, firefly watching with Hafiz Cherating activities. A quite well known travel and outdoor activities agent in this area, known by local and also tourist.

Took some pic here.

Hafiz Cherating profile.

Not only firefly watching, they also  provide mangroving serving, turtle watching (based on season), fishing trip etc.

Signange to Hafiz's office. But later, when we get there, they took us by boat and drop us at the bridge close to the junction heading to Hafiz's office. So, in future, if you are interested to join this trip, you just stop and park your car along the bridge. A few Hafiz' staff are waiting near or under the bridge for registration and payment. Firefly watching cost us RM25 per pax.

No photos taken. No lights are allowed while cruising the river. It will distract the firefly. But the trip was really fun. So many active flier. They were friendly too. The boatman took us near to the mangroves and we managed to catch one or two flies. It's a long river but we were cruising for about 7km. Before the trip began, Hafiz himself will brief the visitors about his background, the fireflies, do's and dont;s while watching the fireflies and many others. It took around 15-30 minutes while floating in our boat.

Firefly watching is scheduled daily for 2 sessions, 7.30pm and 8.30pm. we opt for 8.30pm.

Another beach retreat in the morning before leaving for KL.

Good weather this morning
