VMY2014: Cherating Turtle Sanctuary

Our vision for this trip, to visit as many as possible places of interest around cherating and kemaman area.

Next stop is the Turtle Sanctuary. A must visit place in town if you are here. Plus, it's free.

The entrance.
This place was built in a local village house style. I believe to suit the local environment around here. Visitors need to leave the shoes before entering this house

Was officiated in 1998

We barely noticed this place but eventually discovered the signage on our way to Kemaman.

A few ponds were built here.

Little pond for the little one

Babies were separated from their parents but saw one mommy tried to save her little one. We just watched. Pitty them

The giant one. Big daddy

We didnt plan to stay more than 15 minutes. But the experience made the time passed by without realising it. An hour visit was really worth it. Perhaps in future, the authority could let we experience and touch the turtle in live rather just watch them swimming in the pool

No fees charged for entrance but donation is welcome.

Location: It's on the way to Club Med. That's the tip. You find Club Med than you will find this sanctuary.
